Service Description

Become less stressed, more balanced and more engaged with both work and home life. This has become my passion. Educators give so much of themselves every single day, they have to not only teach the curriculum and ensure there is academic progress, but parents entrust their children to them everyday to provide the necessary care and support that inevitable goes along with supervising so many children. And teachers take on this responsibility with vigour and with huge hearts. But in amongst all the outcomes, reports, worksheets, paperwork etc. teachers have been overlooked. They are exhausted, mentally and emotionally. If they are not feeling supported, how can we expect our young people to not be affected too? It is time to take your power back teachers! Let's make it our mission to practice regular self care to ensure we are there for ourselves, our students and our families and friends. How? Yoga! Yoga was my saviour. I didn't know how stressed and unbalanced I was. All I knew was that I could not sleep, suffered from migraines, had digestive problems, developed hypertension and so many more health issues. When I attended my first yoga class, I slept soundly for the first time in many years. It was pure bliss. And it happened again and again until I had to ask the question. What is this yoga really all about? How does yoga help? Why do I need yoga so badly? In this workshop, you will learn the answers to these questions and so much more. Learn how ancient yogis used their practice to become more content, happier and with less anger and jealousy. They obviously didn't need to be calmer or less stressed. But learn how to employ simple practices to remain grounded and calm during our crazy modern world. And. Yes. Science has finally confirmed what yogis have always known. Yoga helps calm us down, makes us happier, healthier, stronger, more supple and less stressed. It doesn't need to involve complicated, pretzel-like poses or liking incense or being vegan or becoming a hippie. Yoga is for everyone and every body. This 4-week course will cover: 1. Body-based practices suitable for all levels of fitness to embody mindfulness. 2. Body-centred meditations to foster resilience. 3. Specialised Breath-work to nurture wellbeing and health. 4. Contemplative practices to encourage clarity of thought. This knowledge will not only help you in everyday life but can also help support your students at school with their wellbeing too.
